Dress Hire Terms & Conditions

Please note that when hiring an item with Bespoke Borrowed, you are entering into a legally binding contract. It is essential to follow all the terms and conditions outlined below.

Before proceeding with your hire, please ensure that you thoroughly read through our terms and conditions.

Rental Period:

All rentals with Bespoke Borrowed are for a 4-day period, starting from the first day you select on your booking. The chosen start date is 'inclusive'. For example, if you choose Friday as your rental start date, you must return the dress by Monday. Both Friday and Monday are included in the 4-day period.

Please ensure that you return your item by 12pm if via postage, or 7pm for local drop off on the final day of your rental period (i.e., by 12pm on the Monday using the example above).

If your rental period ends on a weekend or public holiday, please return the item by 12pm on the following business day at the post office.

For local returns, please make sure to return the items by 7pm on the final day of your rental period.

If you wish to hire a garment for an extended period of time, please contact us via bespokeborrowed@gmail.com so we can provide information about availability and pricing. 

Try Ons:

By choosing to try on a dress, you are accepting our terms and conditions. Any damages made to our dresses during a try on will fall under our damaged, lost or stolen items clause.

We can't guarantee that all items will be available to try on at the time of your appointment due to client hires the weekend prior. If there is a specific item you wish to try, we recommend contacting us to enquire availability prior to booking your try on appointment.

Makeup and fake tan must not be worn to any try on appointments.

Bespoke Borrowed reserves the right to deny a try on if we believe our pieces may be damaged in the process of your try on appointment.

Local Pickup Information:

If you have chosen the local pickup option, please note the following pickup times:

Thursday: 4pm - 8pm

Friday: 4pm - 6pm

Saturday: 9am - 10am

We will contact you to confirm a suitable time within these hours in the week of your booking.

If these times are not convenient for you, please reach out to us via bespokeborrowed@gmail.com, and we can arrange an alternative pickup time.

Postage Service:

We exclusively use Australia Post Express for all our postage services.

The shipping fee is $19.95, which covers the cost of express postage for delivering the dress to you and includes a pre-paid return slip.

If you opt for postage service, please allow sufficient time for the dress to be delivered to your location. We require a minimum of 3 business days' notice to allow for express postage time. Refunds will not be issued if this timeframe is not observed.

Orders placed after 12pm AEDT will be shipped the following day. No refunds will be provided for orders placed after this cut-off time that do not arrive the next business day.

By placing an order, you authorise us to leave your parcel in a secure location. We do not deliver to PO Boxes.

Please note that no refunds will be granted if you miss the delivery, and the parcel is returned to a holding centre or post office, and you are unable to collect it.

Cleaning:

Professional cleaning is included in the rental price. You agree not to attempt cleaning, altering, ironing or pressing the garments, unless explicitly arranged otherwise.

Certain fabrics are prone to wrinkles. If your dress arrives with slight creases, we recommend steaming on a low heat or hanging it in a steamy bathroom to remove the wrinkles.

The dry cleaning cost covers a standard cleaning process, excluding specific stain removal efforts.

This does not encompass tan, alcohol, makeup, oil, dirt, mud, and any other noticeable marks. Additional cleaning expenses will be passed on to the borrower. If extensive dry cleaning is required due to neglect, resulting in delays for subsequent rental bookings, the borrower will be responsible for covering the loss of business.

Damaged, Lost or Stolen Items:

You agree to treat our products with the same care as your own belongings. Please handle the garments will the utmost care.

For security purposes, Bespoke Borrowed may require you to provide a form of identification when placing an order.

We thoroughly inspect each item before every rental period. If we overlook any alleged defects, stains, or damages, you must notify us within 4 hours of receiving the garment. Failure to do so may imply that the damage occurred during your possession. Please send photos and a description of the damage to bespokeborrowed@gmail.com.

When wearing a Bespoke Borrowed piece, please adhere to the following guidelines:

  • If you use fake tan, apply it at least 2 days before wearing the rented item. High-quality tans are recommended to avoid stains, which may incur charges.
  • Refrain from spraying perfume directly onto the fabric. Apply perfume before putting on the garment.
  • Be cautious of items which drag on the ground. If the dress is at risk of dragging, lift it when possible. Mud damage at the bottom of the dress will result in a 100% charge of the RRP.
  • The fabrics of our items are extremely delicate. Please be conscious of sitting on rough surfaces or wearing accessories which may cause pulling.

We understand accidents can happen. If any damage or staining occurs, please promptly contact us, as this may impact subsequent rentals 

Do not attempt to repair the item yourself.

For any other damage, you are responsible for the restoration or replacement costs. If restoration is not feasible, a charge of 100% of the original RRP will be applied, in addition to any rental or postage fees. The item must still be returned to Bespoke Borrowed regardless of the damage. 

Loss or failure to return an item will incur a charge of 200% of the RRP.

In case you are liable for repair, damage or loss fees, Bespoke Borrowed will issue an invoice due within 5 days. Failure to pay will result in legal action.

If Australia Post loses an item, no fees will be charged. It is vital to return the item at a post office or depot using the provided return slip to ensure proper scanning and tracking. (NOTE: Please do not drop your return parcel in a postage box, even if it is a yellow postage box - it must be scanned at the post office).

Late Fee Policy:

Timely returns are crucial, as late returns inconvenience other customers. To avoid disruption, ensure your dress is returned on time. Late returns will incur a late fee of thirty dollars ($30.00) per day, up to 200% of the dress's retail value as indicated on our website. If you cannot return the item(s) by 12pm on the due date, please contact us at bespokeborrowed@gmail.com.

Late fees will be invoiced to the borrower and must be paid within 5 days to prevent further action.

Cancellation Policy:

To cancel your booking, please email us at bespokeborrowed@gmail.com.

Cancellations made 14 days prior to the dispatch date will receive a credit note for the hire amount and postage. Refunds will not be provided.

Cancellations received within 14 days of dispatch will result in a 50% cancellation fee.

Exceptions to these cancellation policies may be considered in circumstances. Please contact us with your situation for our evaluation.

Cancellations by Bespoke Borrowed:

Bespoke Borrowed reserves the right to cancel bookings for various reasons.

Compensation to you will be limited to the amount paid for the booking and postage. Bespoke Borrowed is not responsible for the consequential damages resulting from booking cancellation.

Reasons for cancellation may include, but are not limited to:

  • Damage by the previous renter
  • Loss or theft by previous renter
  • Inability to deliver the item on time due to prior late returns, postage delays, or unforeseen circumstances.

In such cases, you will be entitled to a full refund.
